An easy way to eat healthy is to choose vegetables. The Level 2 Certification Young Women get to pick the vegetables in the garden. The vegetables can be used for nutritious camp meals. There are trash bags in the garden box to collect the vegetables in. Gently place the fruit in the bag so it doesn't get bruised, then take what is pick to the kitchen.

Beans are ready when they are about as long as a finger. Used the scissors in the garden box to cut them just above the bean. |

Pick the bad fruit also and throw it away. This encourages the plants to keep producing. |

To harvest Swiss Chard use scissors and cut off the biggest leaves. This is good to add to salad. |

Everyone
should break a leaf off the Lemon balm. It’s on the end closest to the
bathhouse. It smells so good! It’s good to flavor water. Just wash it and drop it in.

Growing a garden is a great way to enjoy being outside, exercising and eating healthy! Fruits and vegetables are delicious, low in calories, and helps us learn, and gives us energy. |
